Why I Pivoted My Career to Build Guided Leadership Insights

Hi everybody. My name is Joan. It's nice to meet you. Most of my career has been working as a senior leader in a large healthcare organization with a focus on developing strong, resilient leaders and teams. So in 2021 I left a large healthcare organization to build a coaching and consulting practice focus on helping people strengthen purpose and meaning, develop new skills, take courageous risks at work and at home, all to move good forward. I left a well paying, meaningful career to embark on what I feel is most needed and what brings me most joy. I want that for you too. So over these past few years, I've supported leaders across healthcare systems, scientific academies, medical practices, nonprofits and even the athletic community. I'm an avid cyclist, and boy, that was a super joy to be able to support a nonprofit doing that. However, like many of you, I've been watching what's happening, and I've been impacted by what's happening in our country, and something in me has shifted. I don't think there's been another moment in my lifetime where the global need for connection and relatedness and genuine support between us and among us has ever been so needed and strong. That's why guided leadership insights will now be focusing on and selecting partnerships that emphasize humanitarian values and strengthen individual and team impact for good, not only with you and your teams at work, but in your communities and in the world you serve, so many of you have shared that you wake up as I every day with just as underlying baseline of tension, whether it's the national division information overload, AI transitioning your workforce, layoffs, then at home, all that happens when we're raising kids, a family, animals, our elders. So there's lots of tensions, financial pressures, and you know, it just really sometimes leaves no time for you. So I've been asking myself, and I invite you to ask yourself too, can you keep going at the same pace and in the same way a year from now, what will be different about your life a year from now, I believe we can live better, work smarter, and align with our values and joy in the midst of chaos and uncertainty, my approach isn't flashy, it's practical, it's human, it's deeply personal, and it meets this moment where it's at so at the center of this work is a model I've spent eight years building from scratch. It's called the personal advantage. It's a simple, structured journey with three phases you can take individually or together. It is designed to guide you through the full spectrum of what it means to develop awareness, build habits and understand behaviors and actions that give you and your teams the capacity and resourcefulness in the midst of this uncertainty and change. It's not compressing and not talking and not acknowledging the chain. It's actually meeting it right where it's at. I'll be sharing more here on LinkedIn and adding details in the coming days and resources, of course, to my website. You can see here at the end, when I attach it into the post, there are many ways in which you can tap into this work individually or as a team or as an organization, or even through an academic teaching program. So if anything you've heard today about what I've said has stirred something in you, or if you know somebody that comes to mind that could benefit from this approach, please share this or repost it, or reach out to me directly, and there is no pressure. I will not ask you to buy a package. There'll be no heavy follow ups, just reach out a direct conversation and we'll see where it leads. Thanks for listening, and I hope to see you all very soon.
